Cross Cabin Build + Supply promotes climate-friendly homebuilding in and around our hometown of Austin, Texas. We do this through distributing low carbon, renewable, plant-based building products and providing technical support during design and construction of climate-friendly homes.

We specialize in mass timber projects and foam-free, vapor-open homes that prioritize a safe work environment for craftspeople, a healthy home for families, and a careful consideration of the climate impact of how building materials are made and how these materials can be recycled, reused, or naturally biodegraded in the future.

Our origins come from researching better ways to build after completing more than 100 residential infill homes in Austin, TX with our sister company Moontower Design & Build. 

Most of our improvements over the years were through product substitutions for low voc options, recycled content, or high performance assemblies and detailing.  But with Greg Esparza's desire to build a small home for his family of 3 in 2018 we marked a significant shift in thinking. 

At the time we relied on the conventions of building in our market (concrete slab, foam based insulation, drywall interior, latex paint, cementitious siding, etc.).  But Greg was deeply researching climate change and methods builders were implementing around the world to make a positive impact.  When faced with proceeding with a conventional home Greg's conscience and curiosity took over and he paused the project to charted a new course asking two things: "Can we make a home that reduces our carbon footprint as builders and could we build a house made of plant based materials?" In 2023 after years of research, materials sourcing, designing, engineering, and planning we completed our award winning prototype home bringing plant based, carbon sequestering techniques and materials to Texas.  Join us in making homes that are good for the planet and experience the Cross Cabin difference.
